Michael Feeney Callan

Irish author. He was born in Dublin and from a young age wanted to write, although initially poetry. But after winning an award for a piece of fiction he soon turned to writing novels, non-fiction and screenplays. He is now well known as a writer of biographies and as a writer for the BBC.

He wrote one horsy young adult novel called
Jockey School which was based on the TV series of the same name and this is, as far as I know, the only horse related work by the author.

As if all this writing wasn't enough, Callan also produces art and has worked as a director!

Michael Feeney Callan has his own website where you can find out more about his life, writing and artwork.
